3 months of daily rope skipping before and after: The story of Lisa

Jump rope training effect weight loss

I've tried so many things. Yoga, Pilates, jogging, swimming – but nothing really showed results quickly enough to keep me motivated. I constantly felt discouraged because progress was just too slow. I tried so many things, but I just couldn't see the breakthrough. With many of these sports, I always had to stick to fixed times and places , and then I also had to train with other people who were much fitter than me . That often demotivated me, and eventually, I just gave up.

But then I realized I needed something different – something flexible, effective, and above all, something I enjoyed . That's exactly what I found in skipping rope . I first heard about Everjump from Kai Pflaume during his triathlon training, and then saw it again on the German TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (Shark Tank) on VOX – and that was that. I ordered the all-rounder set .

Month 1: Starting with the lightweight 125-gram rope

At first, I didn't know how much I would enjoy it. But I wanted to at least give it a try. So I decided to start with the lightest rope, the 125-gram rope. Every day I jumped for exactly 15 minutes in my living room – it was my very own personal fitness highlight, without having to leave the house.

The first few days were really tough. My legs were burning, and I often wondered if I was actually making any progress. But then I noticed my stamina gradually increasing. I felt stronger and could do more jumps in a row. After just a few days, I noticed a change – and that motivated me to keep going. I kept jumping every day, and with each passing week, I noticed my body changing.

Month 2: Progress with the 225-gram rope

By the second month, I felt ready to increase the difficulty. So I grabbed the 225-gram rope and started doing jumps for the next 15 minutes. It was noticeably harder, but that was exactly what I needed. I wanted to see progress—and I did.

It was amazing how quickly my body adapted to the heavier rope. My legs got stronger, and my cardiovascular system improved tremendously. I could jump faster, the breaks between jumps became shorter, and most importantly: I felt the pounds melt away. So much had happened in just one month – and all this despite only investing 15 minutes a day.

Month 3: The highlight with the 325-gram rope

By the third month, I was really proud of what I had achieved. So I picked up the heaviest rope, the 325-gram rope. It was a real challenge, but I knew it was the right step. I started jumping for 15 minutes every day, and the progress was incredible. I not only increased my endurance, but my muscles also became more and more defined.

What struck me most was how much fitter and stronger I felt. This daily routine had not only changed my appearance, but also my self-confidence and energy levels. The difference between before and after was not only visible, but also palpable.

The Evermat and Everjump app

There was one minor incident, though: after three weeks of skipping rope, I received a complaint from my downstairs neighbor. Apparently, the noise from my jumps was a bit too much. But instead of letting that discourage me, I switched to an Evermat – a special mat that dampens the noise and also provides more comfort. Since then, everything has been perfect!

What further fueled my motivation was the Everjump app . I could precisely track my progress, and that helped me keep going. But what was really great was the app's competition mode . My best friend Jojo had also taken up jump rope, and we could compare our progress. Whenever I was about to give up, I'd glance at the app to see if Jojo had jumped yet. Her progress motivated me not to give up—on the contrary, it helped me push past my own limits.

My conclusion: Flexibility, efficiency, and fun

Today I can proudly say that skipping rope is not only one of the most effective methods for weight loss and fitness, but also the one I enjoyed the most. It offered me flexibility – I wasn't tied to specific places or times. It was efficient because it delivered quick results, and above all, it was fun because I could do it anytime, anywhere.

I never thought that just 15 minutes of skipping a day would bring about so many changes in such a short time. Skipping has changed my life – not only because it helped me lose weight, but also because it made me enjoy taking care of myself again.

So, if you're hesitating, just start! 15 minutes of skipping rope every day can change your life too – and who knows, maybe in 3 months you'll be just as proud of your progress as I am.

And don't forget to document your progress for motivational reasons: the before-and-after comparison of 30 minutes of exercise every day is really great!
